For those of you that have not tried Avocado Toast for breakfast - you are missing out! This breakfast is so amazingly easy to make in the morning and is 100% satisfying!!!! Many people are always looking for a "grab and go" option to run out the door in the mornings. I won't tell you this is easier than the waffle option for breakfast but it absolutely is a CLOSE second! Below you will find some great ideas that will get you thinking of the possibilites and combinations you can create!
Simple "True" Avocado Toast:
1 slice of approved bread (my favorite is the Dave's Killer Thin Sliced Bread)
2 ounces of avocado
Optional 4 ounces of approved vegetables
"Twist" on Avocado Toast:
1 slice of approved bread (my favorite is the Dave's Killer Thin Sliced Bread)
1 ounce of avocado
1 large egg (fried, scrambled, hard boiled or poached)
Optional 4 ounces of approved vegetables
Tips: You have the flexibility on how you would like to prepare your egg. If you are busy with the work week have hardboiled eggs peeled and readily available. On the weekend you can "brunch" at home with your family and have more time for an egg scramble or a fried egg.
Added Ingredient Ideas:
Egg Whites or Egg Beaters (for some added protein)
Spinach
Onions
Bell Peppers
Green Chile
Mushrooms
Red Pepper Flakes
Herdez Avocado Sauce (on previous blog post)
Everything But the Bagel Seasoning (Mrs. Dash Option)
Additional slice of bread if it can be incorporated in your meal plan
