Breakfast Sausage... Add it to your Breakfast Sandwich

Through this journey, breakfast meats are something of the past and have become a distant memory. Until NOW! It is time to bring the breakfast sausage back! Here is a healthier recipe you can incorporate to your morning meal - and it absolutely will take it to the next level! I have started out with a MAIN breakfast sausage recipe and you will find there are three additional add in's that will give it a different flavor and flare.

Turkey Breakfast Sausage


1 lb 99% lean ground turkey

1/4 cup egg whites

3 cloves minced fresh garlic

1 teaspoon fennel seed

1/2 teaspoon ground sage

1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

3 Added Flavor Options:

1/2 teaspoon of Maple Extract (gives a traditional breakfast twist to the sausage)


1/4 - 1/2 cup Fresh Chopped Green Chile


1 tablespoon of Red Chile Flakes / Red Chile Pequin

Combine all ingredients together and add the egg whites last. Measure out 4 - 4.25 ounce patties (after cooking they will shrink down to about 3.5 ounces per patty). I pan fried these patties using approved cooking oil spray on my stove top, which gave them a nice crisp like a traditional breakfast sausage does. You can also bake them in the oven or put them in the airfryer.

These are a SUPER tasty addition to your morning breakfast sandwich or this adds a more hearty portion to your snacks that have possibly turned into meals and breakfast for dinner is always something I have enjoyed!
